La Trinidad is a small community 20 minutes south of the department of Esteli’s head city. Mostly made up of farm workers, it has eight schools but only one library. In the late 80’s, the Moers from Germany saw this need for a library and with efforts of the local municipality set up this first and only building.

Every day, at least 60 kids attending neighboring schools come to this library to do research, homework, or simply read a good novel. However, the entire collection only slightly surpasses that 800 books. The literature most sought for here are schoolbooks. Most students in La Trinidad don’t own their own, so they recur here to complete their assignments. Mainly, the issue with this practice is that the library only has one copy of each schoolbook for each course. There are mostly copies of old, outdated schoolbooks.
As with most of the libraries in the country, the Ruben Dario Library has no budget from the local government for acquiring books and furniture. You can partner up with this library by providing for these needs:
Books
Computers
Library furniture
Video Equipment
